Our Mission

At the Warren-Washington Child Advocacy, Resource, and Education (CARE) Center, our mission is to guide children through trauma to hope by providing a safe and child-friendly environment for children who are victims of sexual and or physical abuse and their non-offending family members.

About the CARE Center

The CARE Center provides a safe and child-friendly environment that feels just like a home for children and their non-offending caregivers and helps them get the services and referrals they need.

We minimize the scariness of child abuse investigations and bridge the gap between silence and action by coordinating a team of partners who are involved in the child abuse investigation process. By bringing together law enforcement, medical professionals, and social services, we ensure that a child only needs to share their story once. This collaborative approach means:

Located in Glens Falls, New York, the CARE Center is a lifeline for families in crisis. We serve more than 300 families each year, offering each a compassionate, child-focused approach to help navigate the challenges of abuse and trauma.

Our Story

For over 25 years, the Warren-Washington CARE Center has been a trusted resource for children and families impacted by abuse in our community. Our story began in 1999 when the Warren and Washington counties’ district attorney offices recognized a crucial need: our children and families deserved a better, more supportive approach to addressing child abuse.

What started as a small but dedicated Child Fatality Review Team quickly grew into a comprehensive support center for the bi-county area. Now located at 24 Dix Avenue in Glens Falls, we continue to evolve and expand our services while remaining true to our core mission: to guide children through trauma to hope.
